Review:
What will funny man Steve Carell bring to this movie? Is this going to be The Office during the apocalypse? Will Carell be a lovable oaf of a villain that is the reason for the end of the world? That's a resounding NO all around.
This movie doesn't have Carell as an everyman that's going to save the world, he's going to just sit in his apartment and die. While everyone else is having wild parties and watching The 40-year-old Virgin, he's drinking window cleaner. That is, until he meets Keira Knightley and decides he'll hang on for a couple of more days just to see if he has a shot. Andrew Lincoln almost had a shot in Love Actually, so Carell decides to postpone suicide.
They road trip so Carell can find the love of his life, while the real love of his life is right beside him. If only they had queued '80s music on a boombox at the end to bring it full circle. This isn't seeking a friend, this is seeking more than a friend. Knightley answers the question of whether she would sleep with Carell if he was the last man on Earth, she would. Virgin no more.
This movie sucks!
