Transcendence (2014) - This Movie Sucks!

 Johnny Depp's ashes in Transcendence

Plot:
In his quest for artificial intelligence, a doctor uploads his consciousness to a computer.

Review:
This tries too hard to be artsy with the cute shots and framing. How many long angle, light bleed shots can we have? This movie intends to find out. This doesn't go longer than two scenes without a fade in or fade out of focus. This is why a cinematography shouldn't direct a movie. He was too busy making it artistic and forgot there were actors trying to stomp through a terrible story.

At first I thought the photography was obscuring the story, but that was before I realized there isn't much of a story. It's a lot of wasted potential without the payoff.

Turn Johnny Depp into a computer and ignore any ethical issues that would create. By the end this turns into some Michael Bay explosion garbage. This suffers from too big of a budget. The movie worries about spending all of its budget and forgets to develop anything else. Give that money back!

Depp stars in this movie but I use that term loosely, he's barely on screen. I guess he was too busy counting his Pirates of the Caribbean money.

This movie sucks!
